Titanic had Welsh passengers

Titanic Anniversary: Welsh Aboard the Titanic

As I write this blog, I think about the more than 1,500 people who lost their lives aboard the Titanic exactly 113 years ago. Death does not discriminate – it comes for young, old, male, female and, yes, even class. It is a little-known fact that multiple Welsh people died with the RMS Titanic.

Whereas the vast majority of those who perished with the Titanic on that fateful night in the early hours of 15 April 1912 were men of a poorer socioeconomic background than the majority of the survivors, people from all walks of life did die.

Around a dozen of those souls who went down with the Titanic were Welsh people, either looking for a better life in the United States or simply travelling for business.

The below video covers three such victims of this terrible, infamous tragedy – two Welshmen and one Welshwoman, simply looking for a better life unknowing of the tragic fate which awaited.
