Here are the ruins of Abaty Talyllychau (Talley Abbey Monastery), in Talley, Carmarthenshire.
The abbey was founded by the mighty Rhys ap Gruffydd – a ruler of the Kingdom of Deheubarth – around 1185 and, like many of the Catholic monasteries, it was dissolved by Henry VIII in 1536.
Much of the stone of what was once the monastery was used in the building of the village.
