Did you know that Cymru has a two Michelin Star restaurant? The restaurant is Ynyshir, located in Eglwys Fach (near Machynlleth).
The restaurant is Cymru’s first (and currently only) two Michelin Star restaurant, as well as the first Welsh restaurant to be awarded five AA rosettes (2017). The achievements are largely down to the genius of Gareth Ward, the restaurant’s patron chef since 2013.

In 2022 and 2023, the restaurant was named the best restaurant not just in Cymru, but in all of the United Kingdom by the highly prestigious UK National Restaurant Awards. The building which houses the restaurant dates back to the 15th century.
It is a gastronomical splendor of our country located in Eglwys Fach, near Aberystwyth and Eryri. If you’re a bird spotter, it’s a 6 minute walk from RSPB Ynys-hir Nature Reserve!
Oh, dinner prices start at £375 per person. So be wary of that.
