Ever wondered how Wales was portrayed in a 16th century map? Well, if you (like me) are one of the 1% who spends their time pondering over 16th century maps, then look no further.
What is This Map?

This map comes from the Mercator Atlas of Europe in the 1570s and shows Cymru looking a little bit… different… to how it looks today. Let’s be real: it looks like a blob. However, you have to give credit to the 16th century mapmakers for trying their best.
I have also included the large, zoomed out map (though it is cropped because of IG image rules, so sorry for that). Enjoy!
